RE: Notification of Substantial Shareholding

Pursuant to the obligation placed on us by paragraph 9.11 of the Listing Rules, we advise that on 6 June 2003, the Company received notification that Liberty Square Asset Management LLC has a notifiable interest in 1,520,000 Ordinary Shares in Irish Continental Group plc., representing 6.3% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital.
