Notification of Substantial Shareholding

Pursuant to the obligation placed on us by LR6.6.7 of the Listing Rules, we advise that on 12th April 2007 the Company received notification that following a purchase by Dresdner Kleinwort Securities Limited (“DKSL”) of 1,325,304 ordinary shares on 20 March 2007, they had a notifiable interest in the issued shares of Irish Continental Group plc (“the Company”) of 1,772,235 ICG Units or 7.5%. This interest arose to hedge clients’ CFD positions. These shares were registered in the name of Dresdner Kleinworth Securities Nominees Limited.

Following the sale of 1,325,304 ICG Units on 3 April, DKSL no longer held a notifiable interest in the shares of the Company.

Dresdner Kleinwort Group Limited (“DKGL”) is the holding company of DKSL. DKGL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dresdner Investmenrs (UK) Limited (“Dresdner Investments”), a direct subsidiary of Zenon Beteiligungs GmbH (“Zenon”), a direct subsidiary of Dresdner. Dresdner is a direct subsidiary of Allianz Finanzbeteiligungs GmbH (“Allianz Finanz”), which is itself a direct subsidiary of Allianz SE. Accordingly Allianz SE, Allianz, Dresdner, Dresdner Investments, Zenon and DKGL are deemed to be interested in those shares in which DKSL is interested.
