Irish Ferries

Irish Ferries is Ireland’s leading ferry company carrying passengers and freight between Ireland , Great Britain and Continental Europe. They are a division of Irish Continental Group.

Since 2000, Irish Ferries has invested over €500 million in new fleet and port facilities. They now have the most modern fleet in Europe including Ulysses the World’s Largest Car Ferry and the Dublin Swift fast ferry.

Irish Ferries’ Ireland/France cruise ferry ‘Oscar Wilde’ entered service between Rosslare and Cherbourg on 30th November 2007. The ‘Oscar Wilde’ brings new standards of comfort and luxury to our long established Ireland-France service.

Considered to be one of the most luxurious vessels of its type, the ‘Oscar Wilde’ was purchased by Irish Ferries in February 2007 at a cost of €45 million. The vessel has greater car and freight capacity than the vessel it replaces, and more berths and wider choice of stylish cabin accommodation. Modifications which were carried out on the vessel for the Ireland/France routes brought the total investment to over €50 million.

The Ferries division comprises Irish Ferries Freight , the leading ferry operator to and from the Republic of Ireland and the Group’s ship chartering activities. Irish Ferries Freight operates five modern ferries on international routes between Ireland and Britain and between Ireland and France.
